Bespoke Consultancy and Research Services

There are many areas where specialist advice or research from our academic staff can be offered and CBE acts as a channel to allow businesses to access this, for example:

• for specific projects - are you working on a project which requires you to outsource advice from a specialist?
• are you bidding for a project and need specialist advice for input to the bid or prequalification questionnaire?
• would you like to discuss having specific research carried out which would give you a competitive advantage or increase your reputation as a specialist in a particular market?

Consultancy services can be delivered in-house to suit your exact requirements.

We would be delighted to discuss your company’s requirements and can assist in the following ways:

• Developing bespoke consultancy sessions on the topics you require and delivering them to your staff in-house.
• Delivering seminars from our series in your office at a time that suits you. The topics have been identified from feedback from our ongoing client survey.

Research Dissemination

Outcomes of the research undertaken at the participating Higher Education institutions are disseminated at the CBE seminars and events and in the CBE News. If you wish to disseminate research undertaken recently in your organisation, please contact us.

Promoting Best Practice

CBE promotes best practice regarding building design, construction and management. Speakers from the industry have opportunity to talk to the CBE clients about their innovations and improvements achieved in creating more sustainable buildings and developing more efficient construction processes.

If you would like to promote your companies best practice, please send a brief description (300-500) of the seminar that you would like to hold for the CBE clients to Branka.Dimitrijevic@gcal.ac.uk.

Raising Awareness

CBE raises awareness on issues of interest to the construction industry such as new legislation, regulations, policies etc. You can contact CBE to suggest topics in which you are interested. CBE will contact experts who will be able to talk about suggested topics. KTTBE Awards scheme

CBE runs Knowledge and Technology Transfer in the Built Environment (KTTBE) Awards on behalf of Scottish Executive’s SEEKIT programme to promote co-operation in R&D and knowledge/technology transfer between Scottish small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and researchers at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Weekly electronic newsletter, CBE E-News

CBE sends weekly electronic news to over 2,500 email addresses in the industry. Along with information on our forthcoming activities, we publish announcements on events organised for the construction sector by other organisations. CBE E-News are free. To subscribe to CBE E-News please contact us.
