CITB Site Management Safety Training SchemeThe School of the Built and Natural Environment is a designated provider of the CITB's Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS). The course takes a practical approach to risk assessment and regulations. The course usually runs over five full days. Construction Industry managers and supervisors responsible for planning and managing building and civil engineering projects should find the course of considerable benefit. For more information, please contact: Dr Iain Cameron Value ManagementValue Management is being increasingly used in the UK manufacturing, construction and service sectors to maximise the benefit of a project to clients, where the definition of project is the 'investment of resource for return'. Value Management has been defined as a proactive, creative, problem-solving service involving the use of a structured, facilitated multi-disciplinary team approach, to make explicit the client's value system. The process enables the appraisal of decisions at a number of levels including - strategic planning, project planning, service definition, and operations and use. Programmes can be provided at IVM Basic, SAVE International module 1, and Advanced levels.
