For attention of any client considering installation of a Biomass boiler or Biomass CHP scheme.Scottish Executive are about to launch a grant scheme to support the installation of biomass heating/generation systems and for any businesses considering developing infrastructure to supply biomass fuel. Grants of up to £400,000 / 50% of eligible costs are available. This is being managed within the Executive and the Forestry Commission. Potential applicants are asked to register an interest in the next month or so. If any client wishes to discuss this I am happy to have a chat with them. Of particular interest is that the Executive are happy to match fund other public grants for such projects - and a new fund for renewables is about to be available from the DTI for businesses called the Low Carbon Buildings Programme. Full details on how this is going to be managed will be released soon. Give me a call if you want to discuss. Ian Phillips
