The Knowledge and Technology Transfer in the Built Environment (KTTBE) AwardsThe Centre for the Built Environment (CBE) ran an award scheme for feasibility studies undertaken by academics and small and medium sized companies in the Scottish construction industry. The award scheme was partially funded by SEEKIT programme. An independent assessment panel was established to give ten awards. The winning studies and their summaries are listed below. ScotMark and gm+ad architects: How architecture practices can capture experiential knowledge and practice-based research and transfer this more widely. The Mackintosh School of Architecture and DRC Environment Trust Ltd, Glasgow: Integration of wind turbines into high-rise housing. Collective Architecture and Strathclyde University: Creative and innovative working methods to engage a community in the development of locally shared spaces Heriot Watt University and David Wilson Consultancy: How sewer condition modelling may be used to reduce sewerage derived flood risk. University of West of Scotland and Laing Traditional Masonry: Mortars for use with granite masonry. University of West of Scotland and of Robeslee Concrete: Self-compacting concrete for use in an existing precast concrete plant. |
